Under cover agent meets students at COYAD

| November 11th, 10:30am COYAD gathered to listen to a lecture about our real-life community. Instead of the usual speaker, Lydia Lim, there were two guest speakers, Special Agent Meadows and Investor Tony. This unique session allowed the members to realize the severity of drugs and their complicated cases. This meeting started with an exciting presentation from the FBI's Gerren Meadows. Mr. Meadows made his speech more attractive by showing drug cases instead of a traditional lecture. He displayed the investigation process, suspecting and tracking each target. He compared the case to a character from Sesame Street. This creative metaphor helped the members understand well. The Gwinnett Metro Task Force named Tony took the stage following the first speech. With noticeable anonymity, Tony covered his face and body to protect his secret identity. Tony presented the real-life drug cases to which the Gwinnett Metro Task Force had been dispatched. He explained they had to go to the drug case at 5 am with his heavy body armor and door breaker. One of the heartbreaking moments was when Tony revealed children using and selling drugs without their parents noticing. Tony highlighted that parents should be on guard for their children even if they don't think they are engaging in such activities. He also added that children are proficient in hiding the drug activities that the parents cannot notice. His outspoken advice helped prevent substance abuse in youth. After his speech, Tony told the participants to don his heavy body armor and lift the doorbreaker. This experience offered an understanding of their problem and fostered a deeper understanding and appreciation of their work. |
